Have consumers been waiting to snap up sale bargains or is confidence returning to the High Street? The BBC's Alex Kleiderman joined thousands of shoppers at Westfield shopping centre in West London to find out. London's newest shopping centre was packed with shoppers, but the discounts on offer of between 30% and 70% appeared to be only part of the attraction.

Retailers predict record takings for Boxing Day | Debenhams stores
RETAILERS are gearing up for the “biggest sales to hit Cardiff” when they open their doors today. Many of the big chains are offering up to 50% off sale items, with that set to rise to 70% over the coming week. And city bosses said shoppers can expect “one of the biggest post-Christmas sales ever” to hit the city as they hunt for bargains. City centre manager Paul Williams added that while it’s been a tough year for retailers across the UK, Cardiff has enjoyed a lot of success.
